Nigerian arrested with cocaine drugs worth Rs 3 lakhs

Pune, April 9, 2019 : Based on an information received about trafficking of Narcotics Drugs, the officers of Narcotics Cell, Customs, Pune kept surveillance near a popular shopping centre located at Aundh Pune on 07.04.2019, and intercepted one Nigerian national. Personal search of the said foreign national named Alex Thomba resulted in recovery of a transparent plastic pouch containing white colour powder like substance, which he confessed is Cocaine a Narcotics drug a banned substance. The said white colored powder purported to be Cocaine weighing 38 grams, valued at Rs three lakhs in the international illicit market and the scooter used for transportation valued at Rs 30,000 were seized for contravention of NDPS Act 1985.

Customs dept joint commissioner Suhail Kazi said, “Acused in his statement has accepted willful and conscious possession and for sale to potential buyers in the party circuit in Pune. Accused person has been arrested and is presently remanded to Judicial Custody for 14 days by the Hon’ble NDPS Court Pune. A detailed ibvestigation of the supplier, and the customers, to whom the drugs was to be supplied in the city is being probed.”
