Other municipalities should follow Mumbai Municipality rules, To control swine flu, leptosparasis and dengue

Mumbai. 15th July 2019 : Swine flu, leptosparosis and dengue are under control in the state. Surveys of epidemics and viral diseases are conducted daily. 1 lakh 30 thousand people are vaccinated to prevent swine flu. Municipalities should be more aware to and take preventive measures to control swine flu, leptosparosis and dengue. Anti-biotic vaccines should be bought on municipality level. Sufficient medicines for snake and scorpion bite should be stored. Health Minister Eknath Shinde directed that other municipalities in the state should follow the Mumbai municipality and apply same preventive measures to keep swine flu, leptosparosis and dengue under control.

A meeting of disease control committee was held in Mantralaya. Health Minister reviewed the health situations in the state. Major rainfall increases the possibilities of lepto disease in Mumbai, Thane and Palghar. Health Minister directed municipality officers to take preventive measures on this backdrop, to send regularly laboratory samples of rural and urban patients in Kokan coastal area and to maintain Inter-department co-ordination for mice control.

Most swine flu infected patients are identified in Nashik, Nagpur, and Ahmednagar and Pune district. Health Minister directed that municipalities of concerned area should be more alert and implement an awareness campaign. Government health department provides necessary vaccines but municipalities should buy more vaccines considering the need. He also said that private hospitals also should follow the protocol given for swine flue treatment. Suspected patients should be given Tommy flue immediately and treated immediately. He moreover directed to conduct workshops for private doctors.

Malaria, Chickenguniya, Japanese brain fever and monkey-fever fact-checks were reviewed in the meeting. Principal Secretary Dr. Pradip Vyas, Disease-control Committee President Dr. Subhash Salunkhe, Health Commissioner Dr. Anupkumar Yadav, Health Director Dr. Archana Patil, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Satish Pawar were present at the meeting.
