The International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) has selected Pawan as one of the four RTS (Result, Timing, Score) Jury members to officiate at the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020. He is the only person from Asian countries in Rifle/Pistol discipline other than jury members from Host country (Japan)
Pawan will become first Indian official to officiate at an Olympic Games in Shooting Sport.
“This is a dream come true for me. I feel good that the work I have done in the past years has paid off. But all this wouldn’t have been possible without NRAI president Mr Raninder Singh’s support and guidance,” Pawan, who is also ISSF’s RTS Jury member, said.
He added that his dream of representing India at the Olympics will also become a reality next year.
“I have always wanted to represent India at the Olympics. It could not happen when I was a shooter myself, and I couldn’t do it as coach or administrator. I feel glad that I will be able to do it as an official and my dream will become a reality soon,” Pawan, the co-founder of Gun For Glory shooting Academy, said.
Earlier this month, Pawan became first Indian official to conduct ISSF B License Judges course in China. He has also been selected to officiate at the World Cup in Beijing next month.
Pawan had got elected into the 7 members Judges Committee of the ISSF for which 22 candidates from all over the world were in fray. Members of the administrative council of ISSF voted to select this committee during the elections held at Munich.
