Police case against Maple Shelters for offering 1 BHK @ Rs 5 lakh

Pune, April 19 – A case of cheating and criminal conspiracy has been registered against developer Maple Shelters, Pune, which offered 1 BHK flat for Rs 5 lakh.

The case was registered after the builder issued advertisements with photographs of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Pune guardian minister Girish Bapat, claiming 10,000 flats will be allotted under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (PMAY).

The complaint was lodged by PSI Narayan Palampalle after PMAY’s state commission directorate wrote to Pune police to take action.

Accordingly the FIR was registered around 9 pm on April 19 against Maple Shelters’ chairman and managing director Sachin Ashok Agarwal, managing director Naveen Ashok Agarwal, sales manager Priyanka Agarwal. They have been charged for offences under sections 420 (cheating), 417 (punishment for cheating), 120B (criminal conspiracy), 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Police teams are raiding various places as Agarwals are said to be absconding.

Earlier on Tuesday afternoon around 8-10 party workers of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena(MNS) barged into the office Maple Shelters in Shivajinagar and ransacked it.

The party workers tore various advertisements flexes of the developer and also stopped the on-going enrollments from prospective buyers of flats at the Maple Shelter office.
Employees of the Maple shelters were seen running out of their office to their homes after MNS workers started ransacking the office.

A verbal brawl also took place between MNS party workers and employees of Maple.
Shivajinagar police reached at the spot to maintain law and order problems.

Police inspector crime  V Thorat took charge of the situation and MNS workers were asked to leave after the enrollments were stopped.

 MNS city unit president Ajay Shinde said that it is cheating of common people by misusing the government name to sell the homes.
