Problems of Seniors to Unfold in ‘Tapas’ Anniversary Program Special event ‘San Thoralepanacha’ to be held on Sunday

2 march 2019, Pune: A special program ‘San Thoralepanacha:  Interaction with the Seniors’ is  organized on Sunday, March 3 on occasion of the anniversary of Tapas, on organization dedicated to the care and nursing of the senior citizen. The experts from the fields of psychology, medical services, aging and social work related to the seniors will provide guidance in the program. The program is open for everyone.
The event will take place  on Sunday March 3, at 5.30 pm at Cummins Hall, Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Architecture for Women, Cummins Engineering College Campus, Karve Nagar, Pune. The interactive program will be presided by veteran social worker and author Dr. Anil Awachat in which senior author Pratibha Ranade, senior psychologist and actor Dr. Mohan Agashe, retired principal and education activist Arvind Vaidya, dashing  entrepreneur Nirmala Kandlgaonkar will be participating. Veteran psychologist Anand Nadkarni will interact with them.
The nuclear family system has created many problems about the seniors. In addition, physical and psychological dependency seems to have contributed to the issues of senior citizens. Even though the number of old age homes is increasing, the medical deficiencies in in the system appear to make the path of senior life a tough one. On this background, Tapas Elder Care Home was established to provide various facilities such as  nursing care, Palliative Care, Respite Care, Emergency Services, Neuro-Psychiatric assessment, Dementia Care, research center and day care in addition to best  accommodation. Tapas undertakes various initiatives for the better care of aged and ill elders. Tapas has formed a self-help group Madhyanha for senior citizens with the help of IPH. Moreover, Tapas looks after managing the mental health of seniors through various therapies like Art, Music, Pet Therapy, Memory Technics Physiotherapy etc.
Tushar Wadhavkar, Prajakta Vadhavkar, directors of Tapas Elder Care Home and Prafulla Mohite have appealed to all to attend the special program organized on the occasion of anniversary of the Tapas working for healthy life of senior citizens in view of their growing problems.
