The PM also underlined CM’s observation made in this conference about citizens’ better mental health during the lockdown period.

Post lockdown planning

The Prime Minister asked the chief ministers not to lift the restriction from 15th April at once after the lockdown period is over but go in a phased manner according to the situation in their respective states. He also asked to them avoid crowding on the roads and don’t allow people to take to street believing that everything is alright.

Shelter, food to 3.25 lakh people

The government is taking full care of workers and labors from other states and 3.25 lakh people have been provided shelter and meals in 3000 shelter centers. Doctors, and experts are appointed to keep them in good humor. People of Maharashtra in other states are advised to stay where they are and they will be taken care of, the Chief Minister informed the meeting.

Largescale preparation for isolation

As part of the future planning the BMC has already started training of health workers to assist the health system. We are preparing MBBS students of four medical colleges under BMC for special cells. As per the new protocol we are isolating those who have no symptoms outside the hospitals and acquired lodges, clubs, marriage halls etc. under the supervision of corporation officers and police. If necessary, in future, planning is on to acquire a bigger place to provide isolation and quarantine facilities, the Chief Minister said.

We have concentrated on arresting the further spread of coronavirus. Earlier, due to less testing facilities, the number of patients was low. But now permission has been given to private laboratories and their reports of two-three days are coming at a time, thus reflecting the increase in number of patients. But they are admitted in hospitals and they are stable. There were only 28 beds in Mumbai Corporation hospital for isolation ward which is now increased to 2100.

Covid Hospital

At present 1500 beds are provided at Seven Hill Hospital only for Covid-19 and medical workers are provided residential facilities here. Another Covid-19 hospital is coming up at Pune, he said in the conference.

Encourage production of medical equipment

Production of medical equipment like PPE Kits, N 95 Masks, and other equipment are required. We can encourage local producers to produce these at local level and certify their products. This will help us to create our own competence, the Chief Minister said.

Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, Health Minister Rajesh Tope, Environment Minister Aditya Thackeray, Chief Secretary Ajoy Mehta, DGP Suboth Jaiswal, CP Parambir Singh were present on this occasion.

Suggestions given by PM Narendra Modi during video conference:

1. Every state should see that people don’t gather on roads immediately after the lockdown is over on April 15. They should ensure lifting restrictions in phased manner.

2. Our efforts to arrest the Coronavirus spread in the country are leading to success. But the fight has just begun in right earnest. It will now be over with the end of lockdown. We have to maintain social distancing and we can use better, clean clothes for this. Don’t allow our efforts of 21 days go waste.

3. The fight against Corona will continue but we need to maintain peace, harmony and unity and law and order. Use Drone technique for this if necessary.

4. Doctors are not alone fighting the coronavirus. Involve NCC volunteers and young workers of NGOs in this fight.

5. Prepare task force of retired officers, retired medical officers, those willing to contribute to the society and give them various responsibilities.

6. Don’t declare packages for cheap popularity. This fight is to be taken seriously and there should be a balance in all the state from this point of view. You may get newspaper publicity for a couple of days. But keep in mind that this corona crisis is much bigger in reality.

7. Now , the harvesting of crops will begin. We need to see that this will not lead to crowding of people. Some farmers can fix transporting of the farm produce to main market. This will save expenses and avoid unnecessary crowding.

8. Avoid crowd at PM Poor Welfare Bank to withdraw money from their accounts. Plan accordingly to avoid crowd.

9. We are realizing Rs 11 cr due to states immediately.

10. Implement those measures given by the Ayush Ministry on their website to build immunity.

11. The US President has expressed fears about further spread of the Coronavirus. China is also reporting cases of COVID-19. We need to be alert. Winter will commence from October-November and this will be a challenge to face this virus.
