Pune: 2044 swab samples collected for COVID test, highest for single day

Pune, May 27, 2020: The prevalence of Coronavirus is increasing day by day in the state. The number of COVID19 patients in both Mumbai and Pune is increasing day by day. Yesterday, 246 new patients were detected in Pune city. The total number of patients has reached 5427 now.

According to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), out of 5427 total patients, 2875 have been cured while 273 have died. Every day 600 to 1700 swab samples were being collected in the PMC area daily for COVID. However, yesterday on May 26, a total of 2044 samples were collected. If more and more samples are collected, then COVID19 spread can be checked, said Pune Mayor Murlidhar Mohol.
