Pune Festival’s star attraction All India Mushaira on Sept 22 at Ganesh Kala Krida Manch
Pune : The All India Mushaira, grand urdu extravaganza held every year as a part of Pune festival for the past 26 years under the guidance of former Member of Parliament Suresh Kalmadi, Awami Mahaz President and prominent educationist P A Inamdar and Deccan Muslim Institute (DMI) President Abeda Inamdar will kick off to a colorful start at Ganesh Kala Krida Rangmanch, Nehru Stadium, Swargate on Sept 22 at 8.30 pm.
The Mushaira has become a colourful amalgamation of cultural, musical, literary, dance, art and sports event and is regarded as one of the most successful and multifaceted festivals of the country. Pune festival has been the inspiration behind many other small festival which are now held across Maharashtra and the country said DMI President Abeda Inamdar while addressing mediapersons at Rangoonwala College of Dental Sciences.
Pune festival has become symbolic of the spirit of National Integration and is an event of national and international magnitude. Awami Mahaz, is an active social organization engaged with the organizing of the festival. The DMI which is celebrating its centenary year has collaborated with Awami Mahaz for the function.
The chief guest of the event will be Lt Gen (Retd) Zameeruddin Shah, Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University. Famous urdu poets from all over the country like Popular Meeruthi, Dr Kaleem Kaiser, Manzar Bhopali, Sagar Tripathi, Shams Ramzi, Dr Nuzhat Anjum, Hasan Kazmi, Ana Dahelvi, Athar Shakeel will be participating in the Mushaira. The entry is free.
