Pune police arrests fake Navy officer in Aundh

Pune – The Chatushrungi police station has arrested a 23-year-old youth hailing from West Bengal, who used wear Navy uniform and tried to impress upon people in his society in Aundh.

The arrested accused Rajan Janardhan Sharma, who lived in Shailesh Tower in Sidharthnagar, Aundh, used to also sell puppy.

According to police, Sharma came on radar of intelligence agencies after he started posting his photos in Navy uniform on social media. Accordingly, the anti-terrorism squad (ATS), Pune unit, received information about his presence Aundh. On Thursday, ATS sleuths with the help of officials from Chatushrungi police station arrested him. Police also found fake Navy identity card from his possession.

He has been charged for offence under section 171 (wearing garb or carrying token used by public servant with fraudulent intent) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
