Pune Police Arrests Nigerian Citizen with Cocaine Worth Rs 7.68 Lakhs

Pune, October 8, 2019: The officials from Crime Branch of Pune city police nabbed a 26-year-old Nigerian national on Monday and claimed to have recovered 130 grams Cocaine worth Rs 7.68 lakhs from his possession.

Based on complaint from PSI Nilesh Mahadik (29) of Anti-Narcotic Cell (West) of the Crime Branch, an FIR has been registered with Khadki police station against Michel Edison John, a native of Nigeria, who lived here in Pimplegurav. The accused has been charged under relevant sections of the NDPS Act.

Acting on tip-off, he was nabbed near Bopodi water treatment plant around Monday midnight. The cops have also recovered Rs 37,500 cash, mobile phone and his two-wheeler.

Police Inspector Vijay Tikole of ANC (West) is further investigating the case under supervision of DCP (crime) Bachchan Singh and Add CP (crime)  Ashok Morale.
