Pune police to shame traffic rules violators, releases top 100 having maximum pending challans

Pune, February 13, 2020 : The Pune Traffic police continuously work on their task to maintain discipline on the roads to prevent accidents.

 

Using CCTV and e-challan devices, cops have been issuing e-challans. However, there are many repeat offenders who do not pay the fines. Now Pune police has released list of top 100 people against whom maximum fines are pending. The list is available on Pune police department website.

 

According to Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Sanjay Shinde, there are 108 cases of the traffic violation against a man who has to pay about Rs 70,000. Also, the minimum number of challans found on a particular vehicle is 44.

 

According to police, based on complaints from people through Satark Punekar app, Maha traffic app, WhatsApp, twitter and no helmet app, cops issue e-challan. The violator will be informed via SMS regarding their fine, and if they find any issue regarding their challan they can check it on mahatrafficechallan.gov.in and mahatrafficapp.
