Pune, April 2, 2020: The Pune Security Professionals (PSP) Forum, which is working towards implementing safety measures in the city, has now decided to extend help to hundreds of impoverished families in the city during the recent lockdown. With the social initiative called ‘Donate a Meal’, the forum recently distributed edible goods, face masks and sanitizers to the needy in the city.

The initiative was organized by PSP Forum members including Mangesh Kate, Lloyds Dass, Shekhar Mehta and Sunil Beedlam in association with Lions Club and Rotary Club of Pune. Milind Datar and Kirti Datar of Lions Club, Hiramman Gawai of Lions Club, Akurdi, Tina Ratra of Rotary Club, Lokmanya Nagar, Prashant of New Prashant Enterprise, Navin Rai and Viraj Chavan were present on the occasion.

Under the scheme, tea, snacks and meals are also being provided to poor citizens and their families daily in different areas of the city.

“We came to know about the plight of the house-maids employed with residents at Porwal road who have been unable to go to work due to the lockdown. We decided to help over 15 households of the maids by offering them ration and other goods,” said Mangesh Kate.

Keeping in mind the laborious job of the police, which has been manning the city without proper security gear, the PSP team also distributed over 200 hand sanitizers and masks to the police staff of Yerwada and Vimantal Police stations.

“We also offer coconut water, masks and sanitizers to the police personnel who have been manning the streets,” added Kate.
