Pune, Thursday, 7 Jan, 2015: This Sunday, 10th January 2016, Pune will be ready to host one of IBW’s highly popular local breakfast rides – the Chai & Pakoda (C&P) Breakfast Run. This year, after being kick-started in November and having completed 4 editions across the country, the Pune Chai & Pakoda ride is back, bigger and better and will look at featuring over 350 bikers from across biking clubs in attendance.

The celebrated C&P ride concept was the success story that cultivated the association between India Bike Week and numerous biking communities across India with the mission to organize café rides, express passion, build the brotherhood and extend the culture of biking, regardless of the type of motorcycle. An experience like no other, IBW’s Chai & Pakoda rides feature bikers owning Pulsars to Harley-Davidsons to KTMs to Triumphs all thundering their way through some of best stretches of asphalt in India. Unlike other touring rides, the highlight of the C&P breakfast runs is that anyone who has a passion for motorcycles is open to join the ride to meet like-minded people and celebrate a united love for biking.

The Pune C&P ride will take-off at 6am, starting from the CCD at Chandni Chowk, which will be the assembly point for the riders. Continuing on for 96kms, the breakfast point for the ride will be Panchgani.

‘Safety’ will be the key theme of the ride and the starting point will feature the registered bikers inducted through a specialized ‘road discipline and safety riding’ session by CEAT. Post the inauguration, the bikers will set off on the ride in groups of 20, each led by an IBW Marshal. The special introduction of the IBW Marshals this year is to feature as pack leaders patrolling and guiding the stream of speed machines, all along the ride. Medical support was also provided as the IBW team set up a tailing Ambulance service for the ride.

From what started as a humble biking run, today the Chai & Pakoda runs have become the community’s favorite event that showcases the popularity and growth of biking in the country. This ride will mark the first IBW event in the city in line to the Festival’s 2016 social calendar. Pune’s Chai & Pakoda, will feature as one of the multi city community engagement initiatives, marking the beginning of the all India biking journey leading to IBW 2016 in Goa on the 19th and 20th of February, 2016.
