This will be one platform where large amount of Chinese traders and manufacturers would be connected to business houses in Pune. This is a step forward to build a better relationship.

He further added that, China has decent technologies at lower cost and we have now been using it in our daily routine including cell phones and other products . Now there is a need for Make in India to happen with the Chinese . This will add value to the Make in India agenda when we are able to attract Chinese investment homewards. This forum will help give exposure to Chinese manufacturers and explore the possibility of bringing new investments in India .

Speaking on the occasion Rajiv Podar said that more than 200 Chinese Entrepreneurs will be participating at the forum which will probably make it the largest Chinese delegation to India. Today China is the single largest trading partner of India. The  bilateral trade between  is pegged at 85 Billion Dollars which is heavily skewed in favour of China . Indian exports account for only 10 billion dollars out of this .  But apart from trade ties there is a lot of potential in sectors like technology , innovation, infra and manufacturing which can give a new dimension to the economic ties. With lower and skilled labour cost  , language skills in India and rising labour costs in China , India has a distinct advantage. In this forum there will be five MoUs signed which will include block chain manufacturing , tourism apart from solar and renewable energy . Two MoUs were signed in the last forum which included one for e bikes and other in education both of which are expected to kickstart in 2019.

Rajiv Potdar added that the US trade barriers and tariff on China has opened up a window of opportunity for Indian products which include Cotton , Ore and other raw materials . More than 44 products stand to benefit .
