14 JAN 2019, PUNE : ROADEO is India’s First Road Safety Robot deployed to help pedestrians, especially children,
to cross the roads safely. The Robot can be integrated with the traffic signals, or it can be
operated manually, if required, through a Bluetooth app. The Robot has two hands to interact
with the people, show traffic signs, and be friendly with the children. It has highly expressive
eyes to create a feel of a neighborhood helper to the children and also a chest display to show
important awareness messages.
This robot was developed by students from SP Robotics Maker Lab’s in Pune.

1. Aadi Kanchankar – VP’s Magarpatta City Public School – 8th grade
2. Parth Kulkarni- Shri Chaitanya Techno School – 8th Grade

5. Shruten Pande – Indo Scottish Global School – 8th Grade
6. Vinayak Krishna – Delhi Public School – 7th Grade
All these students are already trained in robotics at the SP Robotics Maker Labs in Pune and
they have joined together to build this robot.

DCP Smt. Tejaswi Satpute has been highly supportive in testing and deploying this robot on
Pune Roads. Today it is being launched and will be tested on the roads for a couple of days.
She believes that robots like these will definitely help in reducing the strenuous human effort
involved in day-to-day traffic management.

The students will be working on it continuously to make it more useful to the public and the
traffic department.
