Pune : Woman kidnapped, attacked with knife by lover after refusal for marriage

Pune, August 9, 2019 : A 25-year-old woman has lodged FIR with Mundhwa police station, Pune city police, alleging that she was kidnapped by lover and then assaulted with knife, after she refused to marry him.

Based on her complaint, police have booked Prasad Ramesh Sonawane, Nadim Shaikh, both residents of Ramtekdi, and Chandan Chavhadke of Kondhwa. The woman was in relationship with Sonawane for the last 7-8 years but they broke up. However, he kept on insisting to marry her. He used to call her and follow her often.

According to police, around 7 pm on Thursday he kidnapped her in an autorickshaw near Mundhwa flyover and took her to Hadapsar MIDC area.  He again asked her for marriage and when she refused, he attacked her with knife.
