Pune woman, Nigerian man arrested with Cocaine, LSD drugs worth Rs 28 lakhs

Pune, November 14,2019: Based on a specific information regarding trafficking of Narcotics Drugs, officers of Pune Customs Anti-Narcotics Cell kept surveillance near Clover Highland NIBM Road on 12-11-2019 and apprehended a lady by the name of Nayantara Gupta (28) of Undri, Pisoli.

“Personal search of the lady before panchas resulted in recovery of 54 gms of Mephedrone and 416 Nos. of LSD Stamps total valued at Rs 24.04 lakhs which was seized for contravention of provisions of NDPS Act, 1985. Accused Nayantara Gupta has admitted to her crime of procurement, possession of Mephedrone and LSD Stamps for sale to customers in Pune. She was therefore placed under arrest and remanded to judicial custody”, said Vaishali Patange, Joint Commissioner of Customs Pune.

This is major seizure of LSD Stamp in the recent time by the Anti-Narcotics Cell of Customs,
Pune.

In a second case booked on 13-11-2019 based on a specific information, a Nigerian national David Francis, resident in Kharghar near Mumbai was apprehended on 13.11.2019 near O Hotel, Koregaon Park, Pune.

“Search of the said person resulted in recovery of 52 gms of Cocaine valued at Rs.4.16 lakhs, which was seized under panchnama dated 13-11-2019. Accused David Francis as admitted to his crime of procurement, possession of Cocaine for sale to customers in Pune. He was therefore placed under arrest and remanded to judicial custody”, Patange further informed.

Based on the inputs revealed from the accused person in both the aforesaid cases, the supplier and the receiver of the seized Contraband is being probed into by the officers of Pune Customs Anti- Narcotics Cell.
