Punekars to witness a devotional dance program ‘Tuka Mhane’

Pune, February 22: Punekars get an excellent opportunity to witness Sant Tukaram, a great saint and poet of 17th century as the City based Kalavardhini Charitable Trust is all set to organize their next dance show titled as ‘Tuka Mhane’. Scheduled on Saturday, February 26th at 5.30pm at Jyotsna Bhole Auditorium located on Tilak Road this program will be staged under ‘Nrityaswad 2017’ an initiative by the trust.

Conceptualized and directed by Bharatnatyam danseuse Arundhati Patwardhan and Kalyani Kane, ‘Tuka Mhane’, will feature Tukoba’s lifespan through his Abhangas or devotional poetry. This stage show will unfold Saint Tukaram while highlighting his devotion towards Vithoba, his philosophy and his endeavor towards the social reform. 

The music for this program has been composed by Amod Kulkarni and Chinmay Kolhatkar whereas the light arrangement has been done by Amey Pendharkar and Shital Oak has contributed in the costume designing for the show. This program will also present few Abhangas sung by noted vocalist Shounak Abhisheki.

The dance performance will be followed by a lecture on Saint Tukaram by noted writer, poet and lecturer Dr. Sadanand More.

The tickets for this program will be available at the venue one hour before the program.
