Ratnagiri : 22 people missing, 2 bodies found after flooding due to breach in Tiware dam, Chiplun

Chiplun, Maharashtra, July 3, 2019: A small dam called Tiware in Tehsil Chiplun of Ratnagiri district has breached causing flood like situation in 7 downstream villages.
About 23 people from a hamlet near the dam are missing. The capacity of dam is 0.08 TMC. One team of 5 BN NDRF in Famex in Oros, Sindhudurg district was moved to Tiware dam. Later one team from 5 BN HQ Pune also arrived.
The civil administration recovered two dead bodies. About 22-24 people are missing. 12 houses in the hamlet adjacent to the dam have been washed away. Recoveries of missing people is anticipated downstream and in the creek. Civil administration, police and volunteers are working at site.
