REMOVAL OF ENCROACHMENT FROM THE PREMISES OF B.NO.4, QUEENS GARDEN, PUNE CANTONMENT.

        A massive drive for the removal of newly erected 15 number of unauthorised constructions by way of encroachment over the government defence land in the premises of B. No.4 Queens Garden, GLR Sy.No.29, Pune Cantonment was carried out by the office of the Defence Estate Officer, Pune Circle today i.e. on 22/01/2016 at 1100 Hrs. An area measuring approximately 3500 sq.ft. was under encroachment by way of temporary sheds /hutments made of GI sheets. The said work of demolition of unauthorised constructions by way of encroachment was carried out in the presence of the staff of the DEO, Pune Circle, Pune Cantonment Board, Army authorities and local police force. The demolition action was completed in 2 hours and 15 hutments / tin sheds have been demolished & removed which were erected during last one year and they were trying to convert it into permanent dwelling units since last one month.

        It is known fact that apart from above there are approximately 130 hutments/tin sheds still existing on site out of which total 29 encroachers have approached Hon’ble Dist. Court and matter is now subjudiced and for remaining hutments the Defence Estate Officer (DEO) have referred the matter to the Hon’ble Estate Officer under the Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorised Occupants) Act, 1971 and hearing is in progress.

        Today’s demolition drive of unauthorised constructions have been carried out in leadership of the DEO, Pune in presence of staff of DEO Pune Circle viz. Shri. H. N. Kshirsagar SDO-I, Shri. D. D. Salunke SDO-II, Smt. P. B. Patole SDO-III, Shri. S. W. Tambe SDO-III, Shri. V. V. Mohite SDO-III, Shri. P. M. Kokane SDO-III, Shri. Bijoy Dey SDO-III along with Senior Officials of Cantt. Board Pune Shri. Shirodkar CEE, Shri. Sabale Asst. Engg. as well as the Encroachment Removal Squad of 50 workmen from Cantt Board Pune. Shri. Kalyan Pawar Senior Police Inspector of Koregaon Park Police Station along with his team and Riot Prevention Force comprising 25 police constables with ladies officer and constables were also present to handle any unwanted law and order situation. Due the presence of the said police protection the unwanted law and order situation does not took place on site as the said demolition drive was as per rule and was carried out following due process of law. The Army Authority has also deputed their recourses at sensitive location for the security of that location.
