Renowned classical vocalist, Rahul Deshpande to appear in Indian Idol as guest of honour

Pune, November 8, 2019: Fans of the much-celebrated Indian reality show ‘Indian Idol- Season 11’ will now get an opportunity to listen to the famous Indian classical singer, Rahul Deshpande, who will perform on the show as a guest of honor. The show will be aired on a national channel on Saturday and Sunday, November 9 and 10, 2019.

Rahul Deshpande, the grandson of senior vocalist, Pandit Vasantrao Deshpande, is known for his songs in the movie, ‘Katyar Kaljat Ghusli’ among others and has a large fan-following not only in Maharashtra but world over.

In the reality show, a contestant Shubhodeep Das Choudhary, who is a fan of Deshpande’s song, ‘Dil Ki Tapish’, will be seen sharing a duet with the legend himself on stage, who will also provide guidance to the contestant. Accordingly, the judges in the show which included Anu Malik, Neha Kakkar, Vishal Dadlani praised the performance of the contestant and the singer

Speaking about the show, Rahul Deshpande who’s currently in Qatar for a concert said, “Being an Indian classical vocalist from Maharashtra, I was surprised and glad to know that I am known among such a large Hindi speaking community as well. Indian Idol is a big program on national television, and I am overwhelmed by the respect that I was given by the judges, technicians, musicians and participants. It was a unique experience. Those who aspire to be singers should practice Riyaaz everyday and not only at the last hour. It is only through perfect Riyaaz one can participate in such programs. Shubhodeep is a remarkable contestant and he grasped everything well. I am sure he will win the contest.”
