Royce in PuneAfter the tremendous success of the ROYCE’ in Mumbai and Delhi, Avani Raheja and Samir Gadhok of Burgundy Hospitality now bring this unique Japanese chocolate brand to Pune. ROYCE’ opened in Pune at Phoenix Marketcity on February 6, 2016.

ROYCE’ prides itself in offering a wide array of products that follow one consistent theme- fresh chocolate products that are rich in flavour, textures, complexity and taste. ROYCE’s signature product is a cube of mouth watering ganache, the “Nama”, luxuriously truffle-like, alluringly creamy and evidently moist. Ghana Bitter, Mild Cacao, Pierre Mignon and Ecuador Sweet are just some of the flavours, all made with fresh cream from farms near the factory in Hokkaido.

ROYCE’ is also renowned for quirky novelties like crisp potato chips covered with chocolate, almonds encrusted in chocolate and dusted with bitter cocoa powder and a “Prafeuille Chocolat” inspired by the French pastry Mille-feuille- 3 millimeter thin chocolate squares with a gooey  raspberry and blueberry filling.

ROYCE’ captures the unique Japanese aesthetic and its eye for detail- each serving of Nama comes with a specially designed spatula to be used when eating this sensitive chocolate and every box is packed before it leaves the store in a thermal bag along with a frozen cooling gel pack, to ensure that the product does not melt on your way home.

Avani Raheja, Founder Burgundy Hospitality says, “When I first tried ROYCE’ chocolate, I knew right away that this chocolate was special and that it must not be kept a secret any longer. We look forward to sharing this secret with Pune consumers soon.”

Samir Gadhok, Founder Burgundy Hospitality says, “We have a very loyal customer base from Pune that have visited our stores in Mumbai and Delhi. They have been asking us to bring ROYCE’ to Pune for a while now. We are excited to finally enter the Pune market and offer chocolate lovers in the city a chance to explore, experiment and enjoy this very unique Japanese chocolate.”

The ROYCE’ Pune Store

The ROYCE’ store has been designed to complement the chocolate brand’s intricate Japanese identity and culture. Inspired by the Japanese art of origami, the store façade is designed to draw the customer’s vision into the store. Based on the Japanese principles of Kanso and Shibui (which emphasize simplicity and understated elegance) the store design functions on a restricted material palate of wood, cement and paint which makes it minimal yet impactful.
