CM Shri Chouhan expresses gratitude to Central government , Biggest package sanctioned for farmers so far

भोपाल : Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Central government for sanctioning Rs. 2033 crore package for drought affected areas of the state. The Chief Minister said that this is the biggest relief sanctioned for farmers so far.

The Chief Minister said that this relief from the Central government will give much needed succour to drought affected farmers in the state. He thanked Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitley and Union Agriculture Minister Shri Radhamohan Singh for this relief package who sympathetically considered state’s appeal for help to drought affected farmers of the state. The relief has been given from National Disaster Relief Fund. The Chief Minister has reiterated resolve to extend every possible assistance to farmers in this hour of crisis.

Rs. 3266 crore relief distributed so far

Against crop losses suffered during monsoon 2015 in the state, relief worth Rs. 3266 crore 87 lakh 96 thousand has been distributed. The state government has allocated Rs. 3517 crore 52 lakh for relief. Thus, 93 percent relief has been distributed so far.

It is noteworthy that 100 percent relief has been distributed in 21 districts. These districts included Barwani, Bhind, Damoh, Datia, Dewas, Dindori, Jhabua, Neemuch, Panna, Raisen, Rewa, Sagar, Seoni, Shahdol, Shivpuri, Sheopur, Tikamgarh, Umaria, Anuppur, Burhanpur and Alirajpur.

Besides, 96 percent relief has been distributed in Balaghat district, Betul district 90 percent, Bhopal 98, Chhatarpur 95, Chhindwara 91, Guna 16, Harda 92, Jabalpur 93, Katni 79, Khandwa 96, Mandla 91, Morena 99, Rajgarh 92, Ratlam 99, Satna 95, Sehore 97, Shajapur 96, Sidhi 96, Vidisha 96, Ashok Nagar 76, Singrauli 98, Agar-Malwa 99, Narsinghpur 96, Khargone 83 percent and 98 percent relief has been distributed in Hoshangabad district.
