Second Corona patient death in Pune, total positive cases rise to 61 in Pune district

Pune, April 2, 2020: A 50-year-old woman from Raviwar Peth today lost her life due to COVID-19 during treatment at Sassoon General Hospital. She is the second person in Pune district to have died due to the deadly virus. Meanwhile, the number of Coronavirus positive cases reached 61 in Pune district out of which 18 have been cured till now. 



According to officials, the woman was admitted to Sassoon Hospital for Pneumonia on April 1 (Wednesday). She was ill for the last 8 days but did not approach any doctor. She lived with her brother who is a web designer by profession.


There were 10 new positive cases in Pune district including Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) limits. Two persons admitted in YCM hospital in Pimpri who tested positive are the among the people who have returned from Tablighi Jamat convention at Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi.


According to the Maharashtra health department, there were 81 fresh #COVID19 positive cases reported in the state today, taking the total number of positive cases in the state rises to 416 including 19 deaths. A total of five persons died today.


Across India, there is an increase of 235 COVID19 cases in the last 24 hours. The total number of COVID19 positive cases rise to 2069 in India (including 1860 active cases, 155 cured/discharged/migrated people and 53 deaths), stated Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
