Session to Focus on “New India: Rising to Global Occasions”

6 JAN 2019 : Over 1000 delegates from 40 countries will converge in Mumbai on 12-13 January, 2019 for CII’s Partnership Summit. The Partnership Summit is the annual flagship event of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and is organized in association with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India and the Government of Maharashtra.

The Partnership Summit 2019 is a unique platform that would enable close examination of the partnerships and synergies that will spark the next phase of global growth and develop strong multi-country linkages and networks to assist the transformation of the global economy.

The Summit started in the year 1995 to commemorate CII’s centenary year. With 25 years of active engagement and collaboration of India at a global level, the Summit attracts around 1000 delegates every year with over 40 per cent participation from overseas.

M Venkaiah Naidu, Hon’ble Vice President of India, would be the Chief Guest and would deliver the Inaugural Address at the CII Partnership Summit.

Suresh Prabhu, Minister for Commerce and Industry, Government of India – the Chair of the Summit – and Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra – Chief Minister of the Host State – would be the Guests of Honour at the CII Partnership Summit.

Senior officials from both the Central and State Government as well as a galaxy of leading industrialists will also be participating at the Summit.

The Summit will be held in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Maharashtra is India’s foremost commercial state and is considered as the gateway to India and now ‘New India’. Maharashtra has emerged as a key hub for IT and ITeS, electronics and captive business outsourcing industries. The city of Mumbai is known as the trade and commerce capital of India. It is also the financial centre of India.

The theme for this year’s Summit is ‘New India: Rising to Global Occasions’. At a time when the global economy is managing to retain stability, India is riding the trade winds with confidence as it starts revving up the power to rise to global occasions leading from the front. Be it renewable energy, environmental science and other forms of science and technology, India is matching the pace of advancements in research and development, inventions and upgradations across all major streams of thoughts and subsequent actions.

Some of the topics under discussion at the Summit include: “Partnering with New India”, “Reforms and De-regulation – Strategies to Boost Investments”, “The Infra Expanse – a Super Imperative for Growth”, “The Inclusion Dynamics – A Digital Wireframe for All”, and “India: The New Global Address”, “Fostering an Innovation-driven Growth”, “Shaping the Future of Manufacturing: The Time is Now”, “Giving the Food and Agro sector the much-needed Impetus”, “Healthcare Development as a key component of a Growth Strategy”, “Tourism and Hospitality as a new Growth Driver”, “Defense and Aeronautics: Fulfilling the Country’s Industrial Ambitions and its Security Imperatives” and “Betting on a Leadership Role in Renewables”

The Summit will provide a common platform to leaders from all walks of life to closely examine the synergies that spark the next phase of global growth and play a proactive role in building new bridges to the emerging world by fostering links globally.

The Summit will witness participation by Business Delegations from countries including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, UAE, UK, Russia, South Africa, Bolivia, Nepal, Belarus, Ukraine, and Maldives among others.
