Shocking – 459 new COVID cases in Pune district, tally reaches 6153

Pune, May 25, 2020: In the last 24 hours, there were 459 new Coronavirus positive patients reported in Pune district which includes Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), Pune rural and three cantonments. The report was generated at 9 pm today. 197 people were discharged from hospitals while 8 died during treatment today.

 

Dr Bhagwan Pawar, District Health Officer (DHO), said that out of total 6153 patients 3195 have been cured and discharged from hospitals, while 280 people have died. There are still 2678 active patients undergoing treatment including 218 critical patients. Most of the patients are from Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) area. Till now 42,603 people have been tested in the district and results of 1383 persons are still awaited.

 

The 6153 patients include 5247 from Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) area, 383 from Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), 244 from Pune Cantonment, 33 from Khadki Cantonment, 2 from Dehuroad Cantonment and 244 from Pune rural areas. In the Pune rural areas, there are 8 from Baramati town, 6 from Baramati rural, 47 from Daund town, 1 from Jejuri, 2 from Talegaon Dabhade, 76 from Haveli, 11 from Shirur, 7 from Junnar, 5 from Khed, 17 from Mulshi, 28 from Velha, 11 from Bhor, 6 from Indapur, 1 from Daund rural, 10 from Maval, 3 from Purandar and 5  from Ambegaon.

Across Maharashtra, there were 2436 new COVID19 cases taking the total number of cases to 52,667. Also, 60 people died while 1186 got discharge from hospitals after being cured. There are still 35178 active cases. The total death toll stands at 1695, while 15786 patients have been discharged till date, according to Maharashtra Health Department.

According to the Union Health Ministry, the number of Coronavirus positive patients has reached 138,845 across the country. Out of this, 57,720 have been cured and discharged from hospitals while 4021 people have died and one patient has migrated out of the country. There are still 77,103 active patients undergoing treatment in hospitals across the country.
