Pune, Nov 19, 2019: The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has partnered with Zomato for Zomaland Season 2, a multicity food and entertainment carnival which has been organised across ten cities in two formats – Zomaland in Pune, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Mumbai; and Zomaland Picnics in Jaipur, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Chennai and Ahmedabad. Please refer to Annex A for the dates for the upcoming Zomaland and Zomaland Picnics. This association is an integral part of STB’s efforts to engage with foodies in India through the showcasing of Singapore food and experiences through a designated “Singapore Experience Zone” at Zomaland.

Over the weekend of 16 and 17 November, attendees to Zomaland Pune had a great time savouring popular Singapore snacks like Kaya toast, Kueh Pie Tee, Chicken Satay and Ice Milo from Nasi & Mee; participating in fun and interactive foodie-themed games and taking photos against iconic visuals of attractions like Gardens By The Bay and Sentosa at “Singapore Experience Zone”. Singapore’s Merlion mascot ‘Merli’ was a big hit among the crowds too. Upcoming Zomaland events will include added highlights like the Michelin-starred Liao Fan Hawker Chan (formerly known as Liao Fan Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice & noodles) in cities like Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai.

Speaking about this association with Zomato, GB Srithar, Regional Director – India, Middle East & South Asia (IMESA), Singapore Tourism Board said, “We are happy to partner with Zomato, for the very first time, to engage the Indian audiences on a favourite common topic that both Indians and Singaporeans are passionate about – food. As part of our continuing efforts to engage with the Indian consumers in innovative ways, we look forward to participating in this important consumer outreach initiative across ten cities. In line with our brand Passion Made Possible, we will highlight culinary offerings, appealing to the Foodie passion tribe. We look forward to engaging families and young Indians through this lifestyle, events, entertainment and food event series.”

The STB has in the recent months rolled out a series of activities to engage the Foodies, including a 3-part video series titled #CheatWeek in Singapore with popular Indian celebrity chef Saransh Goila highlighting the culinary offers in Singapore. Speaking about STB’s partnership with Zomaland, Ms. Lim Si Ting, Area Director, India and South Asia who is spearheading the project said, “The Singapore Experience Zone at Zomaland aims to showcase authentic Singapore food, and the leisure experiences in Singapore to audiences across India. Attendees for Zomaland Pune shared positive feedback on both the Singapore food and Foodie-themed activities. We are excited to continue to share these immersive experiences in the upcoming Zomaland events.”
