Sneha Farms to tap DHL SmarTrucking’s extensive cold-chain road network in India

Mumbai, 26th March 2019: DHL SmarTrucking, incorporated under Deutsche Post DHL (DPDHL) Group’s Corporate Incubations division, today announced that it has partnered Sneha Farms Pvt Ltd (“Sneha Farms”), a leading conglomerate in the poultry business, to transport their temperature-sensitive products across India.

DHL SmarTrucking will work with Sneha Farms to develop bespoke transport routes beyond common delivery destinations to transport goods to territories along the Indian borders. The frozen products will travel in reefer trucks that maintain temperatures ranging from -20˚C to -25˚C, in strict adherence to global standards for cold chain offerings.

According to the India Brand Equity Foundation, India has one of the largest road networks globally spanning across 5.5 million kilometers. A recent report by Research and Markets, the world’s largest market research store, also pegged a compounded annual growth rate of 15.4% to India’s cold chain market between 2018 and 2023, and is predicting the market to reach INR 2,293 billion by 2023.  With the growth in organized food retail in the country, and in line with the government’s efforts toward “Make in India”, a strong road transportation infrastructure and network will play a critical role in driving the Indian agriculture sector.
