Solar car design by Lords students get best innovative award

Hyderabad, 12th April, 2016: The Go-Green Initiative, Climate Change Summit, Delhi-Odd-Even Traffic Rule all this present day crisis talks extensively about environment & climate change, the students of LORDS Institute Of Engineering & Technology  has come up with an innovative solutions “Innovative Electric Solar Car” an answer to pollutant emitting cars using fossil fuels. An innovation by the young students “Solar Car” is all set to ease the most common problem of today’s time-“Air-Pollution“. The Eco-Friendly Innovation is called as LORD’S Solar Car, a unique creation unlike any other solar car. The Car unlike others is designed using aero-dynamic design, has solar cells to recharge the Battery and the most unique feature of all is a Three Tyre Car, which has Big One Wheel at Rear Side and Two Wheels at the front.

The Solar Car has WON THE FIRST PLACE FOR INNOVATION among 101 participating colleges from all over India at ESVC (Electric Solar Vehicle Championship) being organized by Imperial Society Of Innovative Engineers (ISIE) in Bhopal in March 2016. The Car has been appreciated for its design, speed and performance and was selected as Best Innovative Car at the Competition. The Unique Features of the Car was HMI (Human Machine Interface)-HMI is basically an APP designed by College students run by a Bluetooth. The Car also features 10 Unique Sensors  which provide various information to the driver like speed, distance, temperature, rpm, toqrue, power transmission, etc.

Team was named as Deccan Riders for the competition at ESVC.

 LORDS Institute of Engineering & Technology at the competition. The Young Team says that “Our aim is not just to participate in an event but we want to conclude that the using of sun’s energy makes a better world (green encircle). Using of much fossil fuels is harming the mother earth extensively.

The Solar Car designed by LORD’S Institute Of Engineering And Technology college has a light weighted chassis and strong enough to withstand the stresses. The Car can have an extensive usage in Malls, stores, airports, stations, golf parks, stadiums, etc. The Car uses motor of maximum power of 2kw and operating voltage of maximum 48 volts and 42Amps capacity batteries. Using of solar panels made students work easily with unique steering and independent mechanical braking system; smart disc braking is applied to all the 3 wheels in Solar Car. Suspensions with fully operational system shock absorbers and manual power transmission using the gear box which are used in the normal two wheelers now a days. The power transmission set up is designed something different to run the vehicle smooth using the manual gear system. The vehicle consists of an innovation part which includes home appliances, generating all time energy and prominent sensors in automobile sector. The vehicle is designed considering all the safety measurements under the motor, suspensions, steering, braking and power transmission systems. Application of Kill switches provides easy way to solve the issues generate under the safety measure.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Tauseef Ahmed -Vice Chairman-Lords Institute of Engineering & Technology Congratulated the Young Team and said that “it’s great to witness such an enthusiastic and environmental innovation by young students, he added that as the administrator of the institutions we make it sure to fund the creative ideas of students, which makes them confident and better engineers of the future. He added that Students were also able to bag a sponsor for Solar Products which was SMARTRON Solutions, which helped the students to procure solar equipments at subsidised prices.
