Stolen laptop, smartphone worth Rs 3 lakhs recovered in Pune

Punekar News's photo.Pune police have recovered three laptops and 35 mobile phones from a man man who had stolen them from various parts of the city.

The arrested man has been identified as Sadguru Govardhan Nigvekar, a native of Kolhapur, who lived in Bavdhan, Pune.

Policeman Harshal Shinde of Faraskhana police station had received information that a man is trying to sell phones at lower rates at Kumbharves chowk in Mangalwar Peth area. Accordingly a team led by PSI Girish Sonawane laid a trap and nabbed him.

Police said that Nigvekar is a historysheeter. Nigvekar used to visit housing societies for delivering milk and newspapers, and whenever he found doors open, he used to allegedly steal valuables like laptop and mobile phone.

Investigation team included policemen Iqbal Shaikh, Shankar Kumbhar, Sagar Kekan, Bapu Khutwad, Ramesh Chaudhar, Vinayak Shinde, Sandip Patil, Amey Rasal, Kedhar Adhav, Amol Sarde and Vikas Borade.
