Maharashtra, July 22, 2019: Creating another milestone, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. today celebrated the landmark of achieving 11 million cumulative customers in West India in its 19th year of operations!

Honda 2Wheelers India is the undisputed No. 1 two-wheeler brand of the West region. Honda gained the trust of its first 5.5 million customers in the initial 14 years. Growing 3 times faster, the recent 5.5 million customers chose brand Honda in just 4 years. Honda 2Wheelers India is now giving Joy of Riding to over 11 million customers in three Western states of Gujarat, Maharashtra and Goa.

Three western states of Gujarat, Maharashtra and Goa together contribute a significant 15% to overall two-wheeler sales in the country. With a market share close to 40%, Honda continues to consolidate its market leadership in the West region since FY’2015*.

Honda has set up its 4th plant in Vithalapur, Gujarat (in 2016) with an annual production capacity of 1.2 million units.

More than business, Honda strives to be a company society wants to exist and has benefitted nearly 5.1 lac individuals through its several CSR initiatives towards rural education, women empowerment, healthcare, road safety education and community development in the western region. Honda’s 7 adopted Skill Enhancement Centres (ITI) in West is empowering the local youth of Nashik, Palghar, Dhule, Pune, Rajkot, Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad with job-oriented technical skills. Promoting road safety awareness, Honda has adopted 2 traffic-training parks in Maharashtra (Yeole and Thane).
