Submarine Courses Pass-out from INS Satavahana

15 Officers and 65 Sailors of 93rd Sindhughosh Basic Submarine Course  and 11th Shishumar Basic Submarine Course passed out from the portals of Submarine School at Satavahana in an impressive ceremony on 20 Sep 18.  RAdm Krishna Swaminathan, VSM, Chief Staff Officer (Training), HQ, Southern Naval Command was the Chief Guest for the occasion. The trainees have successfully completed 24 weeks of grueling and professionally demanding training which included Construction, Professional and Escape training phases. In addition, the trainees also took part in various sports such as football, Volleyball, Basketball and Cross Country. In order to lay emphasis on team spirit and camaraderie, an outdoor camp on three days duration was conducted for the training. This facilitated team building which is an essential component of Submarine service.
Meritorious trainees were awarded Book Prizes and certificate of excellence by the Chief Guest during the Passing out Ceremony (POC). Additionally , the Chief Guest also felicitated the Best Overall Officer and Sailor and awarded them the Rolling Trophies. For the present batch Lt Nitin Dwivedi was adjudged as the ‘Best all round Officer’ and
Mohit Kumar, ERA 5, was awarded the trophy for ‘Best All Round Sailor’.
The trainees would now proceed to submarines at Mumbai and Visakhapatnam for further training before becoming qualified submariners.
