Talent takes a bow at the finale of Radio City Super Singer- Season 8
Pune, 6th September 2016: Radio City Super Singer, Season 8, India’s biggest singing talent hunt reached its crescendo with a grand finale culminated in Pune on 4th September 2016. The 8th Season of Radio City 91.1 FM’s marquee property presented by LuvIt Chocolates saw 6 weeks of intense competition across the city of dreams. At Grand finale, Singer Akriti Kakkar from the movies Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Two States and Jashraj Joshi a renowned Marathi playback singer who rose to fame after winning Sa Re Ga Ma Pa crowned the ultimate winner from Pune amongst the top 5 finalist, competing for the title and the cash prize of 1lakh.
The city of Pune, this year witnessed a 77% rise in number of auditions across various platforms as compared to last year. Aspiring singersregistered through digital platform – PlanetRadiocity.com, SMS, Calls, Mall auditions, on the go auditions and by walking in to the Radio City Studio. After the cut throat competition between the talented singers, the top 5 contenders were given an opportunity to showcase their singing talent on air and win votes from the listeners.

On the finale event held at Seasons Mall, Magarpatta City, the audience and the judges grooved to the tunes of the 5 finalist of Radio City Super Singer 8, Harshita Dubey, Kaustubh, Rajeshwari Pawar, Shruti Joshi and Swapnil Pawar finally crowning Kaustubh the ultimate winner.
Singer Akriti Kakkar and judge of Radio City Super Singer Season 8 (Pune) said, “To judge a competition such as Radio City Super Singer is an exhilarating feeling. To hear the competitors put their hearts in and croon out numbers was a nostalgic feeling indeed, and took me back to the jitters I felt when I started my career. The initiative is novel in the fact that it gives talents from all parts of the country a chance to build upon their passions and hone their capabilities, and for that I give full marks to Radio City!! Keeping in mind the national brand campaign, Rag Rag Mein Daude City, the theme for this year’s competition was Jinki Rag Rag Mein Hai Singing that brought to forefront some astounding talent.
