Tata Power Club Enerji celebrates Annual Club Enerji Carnival

~ Club Enerji programme celebrates its 10th Anniversary ~

National, February 16th, 2018: Club Enerji, Tata Power’s nationwide resource and energy conservation movement, today, organised its annual event ‘Club Enerji Carnival 2018’ that comprises of a kaleidoscope of activities such as project displays, quiz shows and other performances by school children from across the country to spread the message of saving environment and doing their bit for nation building.

Every year, the students of Club Enerji across India come together for the mega carnival to propagate its message of energy and resource conservation in a fun and engaging manner. Students across six cities — Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad — participated in the carnival. This year, the Tata Power Club Enerji movement is also celebrating its 10th anniversary.

The carnival commenced with the national Quiz competition – ‘Energy Q’, for school children across various locations. Five rounds of quizzing preceded the grand finale of the competition in Mumbai which was graced by the presence of Mr.Ashok Sethi, COO & Executive Director, Mr. Ganesh Srinivasan, Chief Corporate Operations (T&D), Mr.Mahiar Mehta, Head-Employee Services & Administration , Mr. Avilash Dwivedi , Head – Community Relations , Ms. Shalini Singh, Head – Corporate Communications, Tata Power; in addition to other dignitaries. Pawar Public School, Kandivali West, Mumbai emerged as the winner and was crowned as the Tata Power Enerji Q Champion. The second place was won by Udayachal High School, Vikroli East, third place by Ryan International School (CBSE) and 4th Place by Smt. Sulochanadevi Singhania School, Thane.

As part of the competition, four schools were shortlisted from the initial 200 participating schools across India. The second part of the carnival comprised of an exclusive exhibition to projects, demonstrations and working models by students, to showcase their ideas and solution for energy conservation. More than 17 school groups participated in the exhibition and were awarded certificate of appreciation by Tata Power.

Commenting on the success of the initiative, Mr Anil Sardana, CEO & MD, Tata Power said, “Club Enerji Carnival brings together students across India and provides them with a platform to showcase their zeal in the area of energy conservation and resource conservation. We pledged our commitment towards this movement 10 years ago and today we are immensely proud of the difference that the students continue to make in the society through awareness. The carnival is a celebration of all the efforts put in by the children throughout the year in successfully spreading the message of conservation. We will continue to organize initiatives that will educate the future citizens to make this world a better place to live in. We would like to congratulate all the winners and thank all the schools for lending their full support and whole-hearted participation in the competition.”.

Club Enerji Carnival is a National Event of Tata Power Club Enerji comprising of Enerji Quiz competition, project displays & performances by school children from various schools across cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Kolkata, Bengaluru & Ahmedabad. Enerji Quiz is the key highlight of the event comprising of various rounds and aims at reaching out to more and more school children while creating awareness about energy conservation through means of education. Carnival also showcases the lively and creative side of students with dances, plays and one acts performed to the audience.

The Club Enerji programme has reached out to over 500 schools in India and has sensitised over 15 million citizens, who in turn have helped save more than 21 MUs of electricity till date. The club also has around 1500 self-sustaining mini-clubs.
