To see off girlfriend, software engineer forges ticket to enter Pune airport

Pune – A 31-year-old software engineer entered into the Pune airport at Lohgaon using a forged ticket to bid goodbye to his girlfriend who was going to Kolkata on Sunday. Later he was arrested based on compliant from the airline.

Subhadeep Dasgupta had used a copy of her ticket, forged his name on it and bogus PNR number and used it to enter the terminal. After she boarded the flight around 2.30 pm, Dasgupta approached officer of Indigo Airlines and told him that he is not feeling well and want to go out of the airport. When the staff checked his ticket details, it was found to be forged. The airline staffs handed him over to Central Industry Security Force (CISF) personnel who handed him over to the airport (vimantal) police station.

Based on complaint from the airline staff, an FIR was registered against Dasgupta for offences under IPC sections 419 (punishment for cheating by personation), 465 (punishment for forgery), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating) and 471(using as genuine forged document).

A court released him on bail on Monday.
