Two women’s quarrel leads to traffic jam in Pune

Pune – After a car and a two-wheeler had narrow escape from head on collision, there was heated arguments between the two women and later they exchanged blows also. While doing all this they jammed traffic at the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Chowk in Warje on Sunday. One of the woman is a constable with Mumbai Police.
 According to the information given by the witnesses and the Warje police, a couple was going towards Kothrud via the canal road, while another couple was couple was coming from opposite direction. They stopped just before colliding head on and the women from both vehicles started abusing each other. They also thrashed each other. As the freestyle wrestling was happening in the middle of road, a crowd gathered to watch them. This led to traffic jam and vehicles were in line for about one kilometer. When patrolling beat marshalls intervened then also the women were not ready to be pacified. Traffic cops also reached there but could not do anything against these women’s fight. Later more police personnel were called to the spot and they were taken to Warje police chowky.
Police agreed to register their cross complaints. However the women were creating ruckus at the police chowky also. They pacified only when the cops threatened to registered FIR against them for offence under section 353 (obstructing public servant from discharging official duty) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The whole drama was over after three hours.
