Vaishnavi Adkar wins All India Championship at Chandigarh
Pune, 15th September: City based lawn tennis player Vaishnavi Nihar Adkar wins the All India Championship Series Tournament under 12 category, held at Chandigarh between 12 to 14 September. She defeated Mekhala Manna of Kolkata in two straight sets by 7-6, 7-5 to bag the title. This was her first major tournament.
Studying in class fifth at Abhinav Vidyalaya, Pune; the ten year old was introduced to the sport at the age of six. Trainee of Coach Aakash Wagh is a player at Deccan Gymkhana Club. She is also trained and guided by Coach Madan Gokhale.
In the past, she has bagged positions like finalist, semi finalist, quarter finalist at various tournaments. She is a part of Junior Tennis League recently started in Pune. Also, the player is a part at the ODMT grizzly bears team.
