VODAFONE RANGASANGEET 2015 TO MESMERISE MAHARASHTRA

Punekar News's photo.Pune, September 03, 2015: Vodafone Rangasangeet, the iconic annual state level musical and prose one-act-play competition for budding theatre talent in Maharashtra & Goa is back this year in its sixth edition. Vodafone India, one of India’s leading telecom service providers in association with Theatre Academy has been organizing the Vodafone Rangasangeet each year since 2010.Ashish Chandra, Business Head Maharashtra and Goa, Vodafone India, today announced the Call for Entries to Vodafone Rangasangeet 2015, in the presence ofShri Prasad Purandare of Theatre Academyand eminent Marathi Film and Theatre personalities.

Vodafone Rangasangeet was conceptualised with the primary objective to encourage, enliven and promote Musical plays in the Marathi language – a more reformed and challenging mode of theatre. As per tradition, this year too, thepreliminary rounds will be held in six cities viz Aurangabad (20th and 21st November), Nashik (22nd and 23rd November), Goa (24th November), Kankawli (25th and 26th November), Ratnagiri (28th November) and Pune (30th November – 1st December). The winning teams from each city will qualify for the Grand Finale to be held at Balgandharva Rangamandir in Pune. Shortlisted teams will get an opportunity to perform in front of eminent theatre and cinema personalities. The winning teams will be entitled to a cash prize worth INR 1 lakh for musical and INR 10,000 for prose along with a host of other prizes worth INR 5 lakh.

Entries from colleges, stand-alone groups and theatre associations will be accepted till 10th November. Over the years, eminent personalities like Mahesh Manjarekar, SachinKhedekar, Vijay Kenkre, SubodhBhave, MuktaBarve, Rakesh Sarang, AmolPalekar, ShrirangGodbole, and many more have been on the expert jury panel of Vodafone Rangasangeet.
