Volkswagen Ameo Class 2019 moves to the faster and more challenging Madras Motor Race Track for the Second Round of National Championship

Chennai, July 19, 2019:  Volkswagen Motorsport India’s Ameo class of the MRF MMSC FMSCI National Championship 2019 Round One was dominated by Jeet Jhabakh winning two races out of three over the weekend. With the two victories, Jeet is currently leading the championship with 135 points followed by Anmol Singh with 128 points and Pratik Sonawane with 108 points. After Round 1, Viraj Jhala and Anuranjan Velmurugan as well as Asrar Wani and Chetan Surineni are both tied-up with a total score of 64 and 29 respectively.

The 2019 Ameo Class second round is scheduled at Madras Motor Race Track (MMRT) in Chennai on 20th and 21st July 2019.

Mr. Sirish Vissa, Head of Volkswagen Motorsport India said, “The Round One of Ameo Class 2019 was electrifying round for us and the drivers. Jeet Jhabakh had been dominant in Coimbatore and his overall lead proves that.

He further added,  “Round Two is going to be an exhilarating battle as there would be multiple contenders eyeing to podium finishes. The weather and track conditions at MMRT are going to be quite different compared to Kari. Moreover, for all the new drivers, it is going to be a whole new circuit as they haven’t got any testing time there yet,”

Mr. Rayomand Banajee, Head Coach, Volkswagen Motorsport India commenting on this said, “The new drivers have adopted to the Ameo race cars very quickly. With most of the drivers being within a second of each other at Kari Motor Speedway shows how everyone has come up to pace quickly. MMRT is going to be a steeper learning curve in shorter time and this will make the weekend even more exciting.”
