Western Regional Council help to strengthen the relations between the Center Government and the States Government : Fadnavis

Panaji, 22.Aug.19: “The Western Regional Council is meaningful for the State and it helps in strengthening coordination and relations between the States and between center and the state government. The issues of the state government which are pending at center will be solved through this council. Maharashtra will give full support for the implementation of the decisions made in this council” promised Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

He was speaking in the 24th meeting of the Western Regional Council held at Panaji on August 22.

Union Home Minister, Amit Shah was presided over the meeting.

Gujarat Chief Minister V.R. Rupani, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Dadra and Nagar Haveli Administrator Praful Patel, Maharashtra Women and Child Development Minister Pankaja Munde, Water Resources Minister Girish Mahajan, Principal Secretary Ajay Mehta were prominently present.

Review of works like modernization of the police force and the measures being taken to speed up the investigation of the crime of sexual assault on women and children, took place during this meeting.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis presented salutation to congratulate the Prime Minister, the Union Home Minister and the Central Government on the success of the historic decision taken for Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh. Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Sawant approved this salutation.

“The decisions of this conference would strengthen the country’s federal system. Issues between the Center and the state will be resolved. Fill vacancies in police force. Training system for skilled manpower should also be started from today. Therefore, the punishment for criminals will be increased by 25 %” said Union Home Minister Amit Shah, during his presidential speech.

Special Secretary Sanjeev Gupta made the presentation. Goa’s Women and Child Development Minister Philip Rotrigues, Cultural Minister Govind Gawade, Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat, Nitin Patel, State Home Minister P.B. Patel and various secretaries and officials were present in the meeting.
