Woman delivers baby in police patrolling jeep

Pune, November 19 : A woman delivered baby in the patrolling jeep of Pune city police in the wee hours of Saturday. The mother and child are admitted in government hospital.

On Friday night, Assistant police inspector Ashok Ipper of Khadak police station was on night patrol duty with his team and two police mitra (friends of police). Around 3.30 am while passing through Ghorpade Peth area in the heart of the city, the policemen heard a woman groaning in labour pain at the PMPML public transport bus stop on the road. When asked her, she requested to be shifted in hospital for delivery.

The cops were taking her to the hospital when she delivered the baby in the police jeep. Now they are admitted in Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) run Kamala hospital in Mangalwar Peth. Both are in good health.
