​AVARTAN GURUKUL celebrates its one year of success

Pune  : City’s unique platform for precise and personalised guidance in classical music and art forms- ‘Avartan Gurukul’ has completed one productive year and is all set to celebrate its first anniversary. To rejoice this landmark, Avartan has organised an event with a beautiful symphony of Dance, Rhythm and Music by the teachers or the “Guru Sahayaks” of the Gurukul on 28th and 29th of September 2017, at 6 pm on both the days and will be held at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Hall in Model Colony. The event is free for all and entry will be on first come first serve basis.

It was Pt. Ramdas Palsule, renowned Tabla player and Anita Sanjeev who jointly initiated this novel idea of Gurukul last year with an aim to mentor proficient classical music and dance artists as per the traditional “Guru Shishya” parampara. Shirish Kaulgud, Managing Trustee and Shrikant Shirolkar were the firm supporter and contributed in setting up Avartan Gurukul.

The first day, 28th September will be kick started by Nritya Ganga, performance by elegant Yashoda Patankar and Rama Kuknur. Savani Talwalkar will allure the crowd by her solo Tabla performance and post Ruchira Kedar will resonate the ambience with her Hindustani Vocals.

Likewise, Guru Shama Bhate will commence 29th September’s celebration by making a brief dialogue. Post that Ameera Patankar will perform Kathak recital and Ganesh Tanwade will loathe the attendees by his Table beats. A Pakhawaj solo performance will be given by Govind Bhilare while Sameehan Kashalkar will conclude the carnival by his Hindustani Vocals routine.

The celebration program will be attended by some of the renowned Entrepreneurs who have supported the Gurukul and their Gurus in the past. Some of the renowned Classical Musicians and Dancers of the city are also specially invited for the occasion.

This Gurukul is equipped with 5500 Sq.Ft. space having state of the art audio systems with some sound proof classrooms and sufficient number of classical instruments for Gurus to teach. Blessed with legendary Gurus, Gurukul today has 85 students across 6 art forms. It is only two months ago that Gurukul has started the Dhrupad Vocal department under the able guidance of Pt. Uday Bhawalkar.

Celebrated dignitaries in the field of Classical art forms are Gurus of the Gurukul.  Talyogi Pt. Suresh Talwalkar shoulders the responsibility as Guru for the Percussions and Pakhawaj.  Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar is the guru for Hindustani Vocal music, Dr. Sucheta Bhide – Chapekar helms the Bharatnatyam section as the Guru, Guru Shama Bhate takes care of the Kathak students and Pt. Ramdas Palsule shoulders the responsibility as Guru for the Tabla students.
