​NEETU KHOSLA FROM PUNE WINS MRS INDIA UNIVERSE 2017 (WORLD)

Mrs Neetu Khosla, a resident of Mundhwa, Pune has done the city proud by winning the prestigious title of Mrs India Universe 2017 (World) in the grand and glittering finale ceremony held in Hotel Castle Mewar, Udaipur. Mrs Neetu Khosla was also crowned with the title of Mrs Maharashtra and Mrs Glamorous during the Mrs India Universe 2017 pageant. The pageant which was organized by Mrs Archana Tomar and Mr Tusshar Dhaliwal, boasted of international representation which saw married Indian women from all across the world including countries like UK, Singapore, Hong Kong and Dubai participated in the event.

Born and brought up in Ambala, Mrs Neetu Khosla has done her schooling from Army Public School and graduated from SD College, Ambala. She is a post graduate of Chemistry from Kurukshetra University. She is married to an Army officer who is a Colonel in the Indian Army. She is the mother of twin children, a boy and a girl, who are 12 years old. Her in-laws belong to Delhi and her parents are now settled in Gurgaon for more than a decade. On getting married to her husband, Neetu came to CME, Pune for the first time in 1999. In 2005, Neetu was blessed with twins, who were born in Command Hospital, Pune. She has now made Pune her home and is staying in Pune since 2012. She candidly acknowledges that Pune has given her everything in her life and all her life’s major milestones have been achieved in Pune itself.

Mrs Neetu Khosla has been an educationist for a long time before she decided to devote more time to her other commitments and her children. She has worked as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry in an engineering college. She has also taught in various parts of the country while she travelled along with her husband during his postings. She has the distinction of being the first ever Chief Editor of her college magazine which she not only designed and edited but also published a few years ago. She was felicitated in recognition of her hard work and dedication for the same. Having taught children for so many years she believes that the youth of the nation is the most important resource and we need to invest in it to ensure that the nation benefits and grows in the future. 

Mrs Neetu Khosla is an avid health and fitness enthusiast. She believes that the best part about fitness is that we can’t buy it, steal it or inherit it but can achieve it only through our hard work and dedication. A couple of years ago she was diagnosed with cervical of the neck and was partially immobile for almost a year. Once she recovered from the illness, she lost more than 10 kgs through her grit and determination to be able to take part in this pageant. 

She wants to use her current title and this opportunity to work for the upliftment of the weaker section in general and towards women empowerment in particular. She wishes to reach the millions of women who are still reluctant to openly speak about their dreams and passion.She feels that in our society a woman is still oppressed and faces many challenges in her life right from WOMB TO TOMB, viz female foeticide, lack of education, child marriage, gender inequality, rape and sexual harassment to name a few. 

Mrs Neetu Khosla confesses that her journey to the crown and success has not been an easy one.She wants to showcase through her journey, that a small town girl can achieve her dreams. She wants to set an example for others so that women break the shackles of the society and are forthcoming to do what they wish to do without any fears. Juggling the many roles in her life is the biggest challenge that a woman faces today. She says that once she read a quote by Mrs Michelle Obama, the erstwhile First Lady of USA, which said “There is no limit to what we, as women, can accomplish”. Since then Mrs Neetu Khosla has always believed in her herself and has set targets for herself and persevered to achieve them irrespective of the daunting challenges that lay ahead.

Mrs Neetu Khosla attributes her success to her determination and ability to pursue her dreams even in adverse circumstances. She managed to keep sight of her goal even when the going was tough and the chips were down. She wishes to thank her complete family to have supported her through her trials and tribulations. She has special words of appreciation for her mother-in-law, Mrs Chandra Prabha Khosla, who has inspired and motivated her to go out of her comfort zone to take the leap of faithFor Neetu, age is just a number and she feelsthat women should believe in themselves irrespective of age or education and never hesitate to set forth on the journey of their lives to achieve what they wish to.
