3 ‘RTI activist’ booked for demanding Rs 1 crore extortion
Pune – A road contractor has lodged an FIR against three persons who claimed to be RTI activists and demanded Rs 1 crore extortion money him.
Nitin Paigude has registered the case against Omkar Dilip Mane, Gajendra More, and Suraj Dagde.
According to police, Paigude is engaged in civil work on the Ganeshkhind road. The accused persons approached him on April 27 noon saying he was doing sub-standard work.
“They told me that they have asked for tender documents under RTI. They threatened to shut down the work and also harass PMC officials who had given me the tender. Later they demanded Rs 1 crore money to settle the matter”, the contractor told police.
