Pune Based Dr. Kankariya Bags International Award For Eye Research
Pune, 30th June 2022: Pune’s based eye specialist Dr. Vardhaman Kankariya recently was awarded the prestigious – “All India Ophthalmological Society International Award’.
The top award was given for his exemplary contribution to eye research in the field of LASIK and Cataract eye surgery which has received international top recognitions. Dr. Kankariya was recently inducted into the “Top 50 Global LASIK and Cataract Experts” by Expert scape, a prestigious organization that ranks medical professionals according to their expertise and contribution to research.
Award was given at the hands of Dr. Lalit Verma, President, All India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS), during the recently concluded national annual conference held at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai and attended by over 9000 eye surgeons from all over India and abroad.
AIOS is the largest society of eye care professionals in the world representing 25000 Indian eye surgeons. Doctor Kankariya is the director of Asian Eye Hospital, Pune, a tertiary care super-specialty eye hospital. Doctor Kankariya family are one of the first doctors in India to perform spectacle removal procedures since 1985 and are considered amongst the pioneers of LASIK in India. They have performed over 1 lakh successful procedures in Mumbai, Pune, and Ahmednagar.
Over the years, Asian Eye Hospital has pioneered several advanced procedures to remove spectacles including bladeless LASIK, SMILE laser (bladeless and flapless LASIK), Contoura vision and phakic lens implants. These advancements have made procedures safer and most accurate.
