Pune: Robbery Plan During Ganeshotsav Foiled, Gang From Andhra Pradesh Arrested During Preparation To Loot People
Pune, 5th September 2022: A gang that planned to rob people walking on the road after visiting Ganpati Mandals was arrested by Crime Branch Unit One of Pune city police. Eight mobiles, and two sharp weapons worth lakhs were seized from them.
The arrested were identified as Minawat Ravichandra Naik (age 31), Philip Nagaraj Samudra (age 32), Gunja Vyaktesharlu Giddina (age 36), and Visadu Chinnabanu Nayak (age 29). All of them are from Andhra Pradesh. One of their companions is absconding.
Officers and staff of Unit One were patrolling the area during Ganeshotsav celebrations. At that time, police constable Shubham Desai got information about a gang preparing to commit a robbery. Accordingly, the team detained the four and confiscated eight mobiles and two sharp weapons worth Rs 1.16 lakh.
Inspector Sandeep Bhosle said, “The team received information about a gang preparing for robbery by stopping citizens who had come to see the dramas during Ganeshotsav. Accordingly, the team has arrested four persons and seized the money.”
The action was taken under the guidance of Additional Commissioner Ramnath Pokle, Deputy Commissioner Srinivas Ghadge and ACP Gajanan Tompe. The team included Police Inspector Sandeep Bhosale, Sub-Inspector Sunil Kulkarni, Shubham Desai, Rahul Makhare, Ajay Thorat, Ayyaz Daddikar, Aniket Babar, Abhinav Ladkat, Shashikant Darekar, Datta Sonwane, Vitthal Salunkhe, and Mahesh Bamgude.
