Pune : Young Girl Dies After Car Falls Into Khadakwasla Dam, Other Family Members Survived
Khadakwasla 31st August 2023: In an unfortunate incident occurred on the Pune-Panshet road, a car lost control due to a tyre burst and the vehicle fell into the water in the Khadakwasla Dam. The incident took place at around 7 pm on Wednesday.
In this accident, a young girl named Sanskruti Pradeep Pawar (12), a resident of Nanded City, Sinhgad Road area lost her life. The Mulshi and Sinhgad Disaster Management Committee, PMRDA Fire Brigade, and local citizens made efforts and retrieve her body from the water till late at night.
According to officials, Pradeep Pawar, who resides in Nanded City area was going to his native village Panshet with his family, including his wife Archana, son Pradyumn, daughter Sanskriti and sister Sunita, for Raksha Bandhan celebrations. As their car reached Kurun Budruk village near Maauli Temple, suddenly the tyre of the vehicle busted due to which Pradeep lost control on the car and it veered off the road and plunged into the dam water.
Hearing the accident, locals rushed to spot promptly. Pradeep Pawar, Archana Pawar, Pradyumn Pawar, and Sunita Shinde were rescued but Sankriti remained stuck in the car. Despite efforts till late at night, the rescue officials managed to locate and retrieve the body of Sanskriti from the car. The local police in Velhe, Police Station have registered an accidental death report, and the police are continuing their investigation in the matter.
