Maharashtra SET 2024: 39th State Eligibility Test Announced for Assistant Professor Position

Pune, 29th November 2023: The Maharashtra State Eligibility Test (SET) for the position of State Level Assistant Professor has been announced, marking the 39th iteration of the exam. Savitribai Phule Pune University will oversee the examination, scheduled for April 7, 2024. Notably, this will be the last instance of the SET being conducted in the traditional offline mode.

The transition to an online format will commence with the 40th SET exam. Since its initiation in 1995, the university has conducted this annual exam for the states of Maharashtra and Goa, spanning 32 subjects. The upcoming exam will take place at 262 examination centres across 17 cities.

Applicants are required to have secured a minimum of 55 per cent marks in their Master’s degree examination, with a relaxation to 50 per cent for reserved categories. Additionally, final-year students are eligible to apply. The exam will be conducted in both English and Marathi.

Although the application window has not been announced, Dr. Vijay Khare, the in-charge registrar, and Dr. BP Kapadnis, the coordinator of the SET department, have assured that details will be made available shortly. The most recent SET exam occurred on March 23, attracting nearly half a lakh participants.
