Pune, 21st March 2024: Vasant More asserts his unwavering commitment to enter the electoral fray, adopting the mantra of ‘Mi Ekla Chalo Re’ (Let’s Walk Alone) after he departs from the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) party. Despite his meeting with Mahavikas Aghadi leaders to secure the Pune Lok Sabha nomination, the anticipated response was not forthcoming. This prompted More to share a significant post on social media, drawing attention to the one-sided narrative surrounding the Pune Lok Sabha election, particularly with the announcement of Muralidhar Mohol as the Mahayuti candidate.

In response to BJP’s assertion of a one-sided election, More counters by stating that as long as he remains a force in Pune city, such a scenario will not be tolerated. Emphasizing his independence from party affiliations, More vows to contest the election autonomously, promising to address pertinent issues with transparency and evidence. He warns BJP leaders that any attempts to monopolize the election will be met with public disclosure at the appropriate juncture.

Despite his initial inclination to contest under the Maha Vikas Aghadi banner, More’s aspirations were dashed with the almost certain nomination of Congress MLA Ravindra Dhangekar. In light of this development, More hints at an independent candidacy through his social media post, challenging the notion of a one-sided election.

Having been a steadfast supporter of Raj Thackeray and a longtime member of the MNS, More’s resignation from the party underscores his determination to pursue his electoral ambitions. While he sought the nomination from Congress and engaged with Mahavikas Aghadi leaders, the political landscape of Pune, dominated by established figures, prompted More to assert his presence and challenge the status quo.
