Pune, 23rd May 2024: The investigation into the tragic Porsche accident that claimed the lives of two IT professionals in Kalyani Nagar on May 19 has taken a new turn. According to sources, Pune Police have started probing a potential drug angle in the case.

The authorities suspect that the minor accused, who was driving the luxury car, might have consumed drugs along with alcohol during parties on Saturday night and Sunday early morning. It is widely known that substances like weed (ganja) and charas are easily accessible at parties in Pune’s pubs and clubs. Youth attending these gatherings often roll joints with the help of rolling papers.

Given these circumstances, the police are exploring the possibility that the accused was under the influence of both drugs and alcohol at the time of the accident, which may have impaired his ability to control the vehicle.

To ascertain whether the minor accused had consumed drugs during the party, the police are awaiting the results of blood samples sent to the forensic lab. Additionally, they are examining CCTV footage from the pub where the party took place.

Surendra Kumar Agarwal, the grandfather, has also been brought in for questioning.
